A small preschool with a big heart
Valen Valle preschool is a small parent cooperative with 35 children, located in the heart of Vallkärra in northern Lund. Split into three departments, with about 10-12 children in each group, we offer good staff-to-child ratios, skilled and attentive educators, and regular excursions to nature and cultural experiences
Our staff speaks several different languages and we are accustomed to welcoming children who have a different mother tongue than Swedish.
By dividing the children into smaller groups we lay the foundation for each child’s exploration, self-esteem and learning.

Both indoor and outdoor environments are important resources in our work, and something we (staff and parents) continuously work to develop, adapt, and fill with meaning. Through regular excursions using our cargo bikes, all departments also offer exciting visits to nature areas, museums, playgrounds, and libraries, both in the local area and in central Lund. By dividing the children into smaller groups and acknowledging each child individually, we see how we lay the foundation for each child’s exploration, self-esteem, and learning. For this, of course, we need present and explorative educators who are given the right conditions to fulfill their mission.

What does a parent cooperative mean?
The preschool is run by a board consisting om parents. The principal participates in the board meetings, and the board meets once a month. Members who are not on the board are part of various responsibility groups. Each year, an annual meeting with a membership gathering and two “fixing days” are held. Participation in these activities is mandatory. All families pay a membership fee of 100 SEK per family, which is refunded when the child/children leave the preschool.
Having your child at Valen Valle means a bit more work, but it also provides a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the preschool’s activities.
